I live in Davenport, Stockport, and I make simple websites for local businesses.
If you've got a Facebook page but no proper website of your own, I can help. I'll make you a free mock-up first, so you can see what yours would look like before you spend a penny.
Why I do it
There are loads of great little shops, cafés, tradespeople and other small businesses round here that are hard to find on Google. Lots of them only have a Facebook page. I like helping local places get found, and a website needn't cost a fortune.
I keep my client list small, so you deal with me directly. The examples on this page are sample designs I've made, not paid jobs. Have a look and see what you think.

I don't copy someone else's site and just change the colours. Your design is unique to you, using the colours and style you like.
How it works
Before anything else, I can make you a free mock-up. If you don't like it, no harm done.
- I build it. I make your site and send you a preview link to try on your phone and your computer. We tweak it until you're happy.
- You set up your accounts and invite me in. You sign up for your own web address, hosting (Netlify) and editing page (Contentful). They're all free or cheap. Then you add me as a helper. I'll talk you through each one.
- I set up your editing page. I add the boxes you'll use to change your menu, opening hours or photos.
- I connect it all up and test it. I link the site to your editing page and check it works on phones and computers.
- It goes live. The site moves onto your own Netlify account.
- I connect your web address. Your address, for example yourcafe.co.uk, is pointed at your new site. If you don't have a web address yet, I'll talk you through buying one. It usually costs under £10 a year.
- Handover. I show you how to make changes and leave you a printed guide. That's it, you're all set.
It's all yours
Your web address, your hosting and your editing page are all set up in your name. I'm just invited in to help. So you're never tied to me, and you can take me off any time you like.

Do I need to be good with computers?
No. If you can post on Facebook, you can update your site.
How much does it cost?
£150 for a basic site. Half up front, and half when it's live.
What will it cost me each year?
About £10, mainly for your web address.
What's an editing page?
It's a page you log into to change your site, a bit like filling in a form. Change the price of a scone, press Publish, and your site updates in a minute or two. The one I use is called Contentful, and it's free.
Can I change my menu, prices or photos myself?
Yes, from your own editing page.
What if I want to stop working with you?
Nothing happens. It's all yours already.
How long does it take?
In most cases your site is built within 2 weeks. It mostly depends on how quickly we can set up your accounts and get your words and photos together. I'll give you a rough date before I start.
Will it work on phones and computers?
Yes. It works on computers, laptops, tablets and phones, and it's designed to work especially well on phones.
Will people find me on Google?
I set your site up so Google can read it properly, with your town and what you do in the right places. I'll also show you how to set up a free Google Business Profile, which helps a lot with local searches.
Do I need a Facebook page as well?
No, but your site can link to it if you've got one.
